Academics

The curriculum is based on …

Daily religion instruction. Participation in Mass, prayer services, and service projects.
Open Court phonics-based reading program in K-5 through 2^nd grade. Literature-based reading program in 3^rd through 8^th grades.
Language arts with an emphasis on grammar and writing/communication skills.
Math instruction includes drill, computation, and application. Eighth-grade students are able to earn high-school credit for Algebra I.
Social studies instruction encourages students to learn about the past and about other cultures in order to encourage good citizenship and respectful tolerance.
Science classes focus on the world around us. Students in 5^th through 8^th grades work in the science lab and cover life, earth, and physical science curricula.

Students in grades K-4 through 8 attend weekly classes in Art, Computer, Music, Library, Physical Education, and Spanish. Students in 7^th and 8^th grades have Spanish class daily. Eighth grade students are able to earn high-school credit for Spanish I.
